Posted May 03, 2018 06:06:07Hollywood studio Walt Disney Studios is not giving up on the Star Wars: Episode VIII franchise after the first trailer for the film debuted on Thursday.
The first teaser for Star Wars Episode VIII was released on Thursday, May 3, 2018.
The trailer, titled ‘The Last Jedi’, featured the first footage from the film.
The movie opens in theaters on December 15, 2019.
In the trailer, Kylo Ren (Mark Hamill) and Rey (Daisy Ridley) look on as a mysterious force emerges from an abandoned space station.
The film follows a group of young people, including a bounty hunter (Harrison Ford) and an old friend (Ewan McGregor), as they attempt to thwart the evil Sith Lord Darth Vader (Adam Driver) in the waning days of the Galactic Civil War.
Disney Studios and Lucasfilm will release the first official teaser poster for the upcoming Star Wars film on May 17.
The film is set to hit theaters on May 25, 2019, the same day the first teaser trailer for Star War: Episode VII: The Force Awakens will hit theaters.
Disney has not revealed how much the film will cost.
